For Showtime’s annual digital holiday card, I came up with the idea of a workshop where users could create their own holiday ornaments out of objects from different original series. Each ornament contained 3 different objects pertaining to their respective series (ex: Homeland consists of bullets, Brody’s badge and a flag pin) that would form the ornament as users scrolled down the page. Once the user reached the bottom, a CTA would prompt the user to send the page as a holiday card to their recipients. Upon receiving the email, the recipients could experience and share the holiday card themselves.
I created each animation in Flash and worked closely with our development team so that the ornaments would assemble once the user reached a certain position on their screen. It took a lot of trial-and-error but the development team worked their magic to ensure that every user would be able to view each ornament in its full form.
